Francky L'Official

I'm calling it now. Francky L'Official is the new, younger version of the great Frédéric Fekkai. His fresh look, creative ideas, and innovative designs are perfect for any person, event, or occasion.
Early in his career, Francky L'Official joined renown coiffure Jacques Dessange as Artistic Director of his Paris Salons. Educating Dessange stylists throughout the city, Francky made a name for himself developing creative teams of stylists to take part in the conception and creative design of fashion events. After overseeing many fashion shows, Francky was awarded the prestigious Mondial Hair Show award.

A growing demand for Francky's expertise brought him around the world and after many years of experience he found himself in New York. During the Fall of 2005, Francky established himself at Salon a Deux, which he lent his name to soon after. As Artistic Director of Francky L'Official Salon, he brings his creativity and inspiration to New York's fashion world adding his own style.

Several years after arriving in New York, Francky has begun to make a name for himself. And with a product line due to be launched, Francky is poised to become a mainstay in New York for years to come.

Hair is always an incredibly important part of fashion and style. So I asked Francky to weigh in on the subject.

Thirsty.Threads - Who encouraged you to get into the salon/hair industry?

Francky L'Official - Nobody… I studied medicine for 2 years and wasn’t happy so I decided to follow my instincts and do something creative. I first tried makeup but my heart wasn’t in it so I then tried hair and instantly fell in love with my career .

Thirsty.Threads - Where do you seek creativity and inspiration?

Francky L'Official - My inspiration comes from looking at every day people on the street. I love to sit outside of cafes and watch people. My best ideas have been inspired by real people - not models.

Thirsty.Threads - Which city has the most creative and best overall hair?

Francky L'Official - Paris, London and Italy. Peoples in those cities are very creative and are not afraid to take risks.
Thirsty.Threads - What styles and trends do you see for the upcoming fall/winter seasons?

Francky L'Official - Wavy hair with extreme volume " le pouffant ".

Thirsty.Threads - Who is your favorite celebrity to style? Who would you like to work with in the future?

Francky L'Official - I have really enjoyed working with Kate Beckinsale and Bethenny Frankel because they are so much fun. I would love to work with Sandra Bullock and Charlize Theron in the future. I think they have fantastic style.

Thirsty.Threads - What tips can you give the every day person for having healthier, more luxurious hair?

Francky L'Official - Don't wash your hair every day. You should only wash every 2 or 3 days. Also, apply a mask to your hair once a week and leave it on overnight.

Thirsty.Threads - What can we expect from your product collection?

Francky L'Official - Because of the natural ingredients in every product, my line will not only leave your hair feeling and looking healthy, it will actually BE healthy, unlike all of the other products out there that have nothing but chemicals in them. It also smells better than anything else out there right now.

Of course, Francky is in high demand. Book an appointment well in advance. It's worth every penny.
