look good, feel better

The American Cancer Society has a wonderful program called "Look good, feel better" - with a general premise that when you're going through chemotherapy and vigorous cancer treatments, if you look good (thanks to cosmetics tips and wig styling) you'll feel better.

The same can be applied to this recession and less-than-fashionable economy. Fashion and beauty can be an escape from stress. And when you're less stressed, you can be more productive, happier, and more successful.

So when times are tough, do what you can to feel beautiful. Buy your favourite lipstick. Use your signature cologne. Stock up on luxurious socks and hosiery. Even though you may have a budget - be sure to include yourself!

You can still be fabulous and frugal!
